Hiked to the top of the P in hopes of getting a vantage point above the fog, but the elevation wasn't quite enough. Still got to experiment with shadows and long exposure though.

On the first weekend of our 2016 Spring Break, some roommates and I went to SF then Big Sur. Check it out:
Not in the video: getting destroyed by the rain & severe unpreparedness.
Friday evening marked a temporary break in the wave of El Nino showers we've been getting, and the clouds were damn amazing. I decided to head up to the top of my apartment's parking structure to take a timelapse using my new Alpine Labs Michron, and I got some amazing results. I had some trouble fixing the severe flickering issues that timelapse photographers have dealt with since the dawn of digital, but I managed to get rid of most of it in post. Here's the 20 second video, best viewed in HD full screen:
There were many fantastic moments over the 30 minute sunset period to make for great stills, and here's just one.
Gear used: Nikon D90, Tokina 12-24 f/4.0, Alpine Labs Michron, & Gorillapod SLR.
We drove up to the summit of Mt. Diablo this weekend.
Pictures shot with expired Porta 400, Gold 200, or Superia 400.

We tried out the other 24/7 donuts place across town, and it's pretty good. Better than SLO DO CO even, but it's a bit too far from us to be a convenient hang out place.

My days tend to end at 2am, so I'm counting shots taken past midnight as a shot taken on the previous day.

Walked around at 5:00am taking some long exposures of the campus. I got this shot of a car driving by. This shot and composition is something I want to revisit and improve upon in the future.

I drove up to Perfumo Canyon to try to catch the sunset, but I ended up having to leave about 30 minutes prior. It really sucks because it was probably the best sunset of the year so far (purple sky and everything). Oh well, I'll just have to wait for the next opportunity.
And btw, the car is in park - I didn't take the shot while driving.

It started raining at 4:00am this morning, and I went out for an hour long walk at 5:00am. I love the rain, but it's difficult to shoot in this weather (wishing my camera was weather sealed!).
